Melissa in the Media

Featured Writer & Ambassador for Follow the Camino - 2016

That is, until one conversation changed it all - a conversation that dared me to explore, to connect, to develop, and to stand up for my life and who I was capable of being. It was the conversation that saved my life.

2017 "Everyday Vixen" Digital Summit Interview with Kristen Nichole of Wlyd Wellness

In this interview I get very candid about my past struggles with depression and suicidal thinking. There are several important messages in our conversation. Please watch and share with anyone who may be struggling themselves. As a suicide prevention advocate it is important for me to continue to share my story even when difficult and you will see in this interview it was not easy.

This is by far one of my favorite interviews to date! We discuss all things feminine energy, the mind, body & spirit connection and nourishing yourself as a "whole" woman while honoring who you really are not what others want you to be! It's one of my most personal and raw reveals yet!

Feature Story in GoodHousekeeping Magazine - 2016

Seven years ago, Melissa Carter seemed like a success story. At 29, she was a music-industry executive who rubbed shoulders with rap stars at Grammy parties and was named a "Power Player" by Billboard magazine. "But inside, I was miserable," she says. "I had a lifelong food addiction I wasn't dealing with." She was also prediabetic, and diabetes had killed her mother at 40: "I was questioning my worth every day."

Melissa featured on HealthCorps

Until about five years ago, Melissa worked in the music industry for the majority of her career. Moving up the ladder from her internship to a director’s position, she was even featured in Billboard Magazine’s “Top 30 under 30” Executives in 2009. Despite traveling the world and interacting with high profile celebrities and executives, her health interfered with her enjoyment of her success. She was 300 pounds, walking with a cane, ignoring a food addiction, and feeling miserable.
